About

No mind is broken. Everything here starts there.

A podcast and a growing library of free resources, for people trying to work with the brain they actually have, and for the people trying to help them.

Most advice about how to think is written for a brain that works one particular way. This is for all the others.

Minds differ. That is ordinary, and it is not a defect to be corrected. Most of the trouble starts when someone gets measured against a perfectly efficient brain that has never existed, including in the people doing the measuring.

Everything is free, in English and Spanish.

Founder and Host, the Thought Club Podcast

Elisabeth Gray

Elisabeth grew up watching children learn in wildly different ways, through her mother's work as a developmental pediatrician. At Oxford she found a version of education built on asking questions rather than memorizing answers. Thought Club is an attempt to hand that version to everyone, at no cost, on one premise: no mind is broken.

In 2005 she founded Oxford Tutors to bring the approach to students in the United States, from high achievers who were bored to students whose schools had run out of ideas for them. Over two decades that work has run from California public schools to the Upper East Side, from elite prep schools to wilderness programs in the middle of nowhere.

Today she is the firm's intellectual architect, which means she works on the teaching methods themselves, builds partnerships with clinicians and schools, and trains the educators coming up behind her.
